Engaging Women of Color in Public Service: Cultivating Community

The Engaging Women of Color in Public Service conference centers the perspectives and experiences of women of color working in the public sector. Attendees will learn valuable professional skills that support career success and employee wellbeing while also connecting with each other. This year’s theme is “Cultivating Community”. The conference sessions will provide attendees with practical tools to showcase their strengths, effectively navigate change, and build supportive professional connections by expanding their network and developing mentoring relationships. Through inspiring speakers, personal reflection, and interactive small group discussions, we will explore the unique experiences of women of color working in the public sector and learn practical strategies to cultivate a strong and supportive professional community.
Schedule: This conference will be held from 9:00am-6:30pm at the NC Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill on June 14, 2024. The conference includes an evening networking reception. The full agenda is posted under the “Materials” tab.
Attendees: Registration is open to all public officials, government employees, and nonprofit employees. This conference focuses on the perspectives and experiences of women of color working in public service.
